:biggrin_2554: I just thought of this on way home yesterday, but let's say we for example we have 2 dishonest truck drivers ok, first one always try too around the scales , so he know's this guy in a big major company, he whip's out a 100 and say's too this guy , i'll give you this 100 if you get me some those e- log's sticker's , to put on my truck, ok he say's, now the first one doesn't have too worry about going thru the scales , cause he got them stickers on his truck , i really don't know how that work's , but everyone i seen , goes right thru em:biggrin_2554:

There is at least one on the forum here that uses DDL and has the stickers on his truck.

Dishonest drivers, please say it is'nt so.I thought this was the honest profession there is.Anyway does drivers actually put those stikers on the trks in hopes the dot does'nt check their logs?Sounds possible but never heard of that happening till now.

Then that person is opening themselves up for a citation and some problems.. electronic logs have to have the computer attached to the ecm / computer of the vehicle. He is running paper logs, he is just using a computer to document and print them.

More scales check them than you think and somebody with stickers on the truck and no e-logs would be in serious trouble . Some scales target the trucks with the stickers . Drivers are required to have a certificate of compliance for the device and an instruction sheet for LEO's . If they can't produce those they are cited and placed OOS

I got those stickers, and a PC unit, but running paper right now. The elog is not official right, because I switched trucks and the computer were different style units, so until I go home or have a 34 I have to run paper, and I really like it much better, wish I didn't have to give the paper up.

That is what our drivers are supposed to do, but I get this feeling that when they log into their new unit with 70 hours they just run with it. Nobody bothers running paper, or at least turning them in.

Within the last three weeks we have gone to EOBR namely the Xata Turnpike, seems to work well, have a couple of drivers still getting acquainted but overall, not too bad.

Now to answer your question, we had a driver pulled in for a level 3, everything checked out fine, but the reason the DOT decided to check him?

Because he had heard about this system, but wanted to see one first hand, so much for your Star Trek like "cloak of invisibility" lol
