The slog stickers on the truck is to inform law enforcement officers that vehicle is equipped with elogs. This is so when stopped the driver can't hide the elogs and present the official with a falsified paper log book. The sticker doesn't get them by the scales. A device in the truck called a prepass does. To get a prepass you have to be linked to the system. The elog in your trk as well as the other information about what you are hauling is on the prepass system. It is specific to one truck. Lets say you pick a load up in Los Angelos going to New York. You have entered your load information, product, quantity, weight and destination into the system. You may have to stop at the first scale on your trip to verify your weights however there is no need for the redundancy of scaling it at every scale across the country. The prepass is an electronic device the scales use to verify your trk and load. It then signals the truck wether to stop or keep going before it gets to the exit ramp of the scales.

Feds withhold their hiway funds if they don't. Not right but pretty effective.

Any time I've been checked, the DOT officer didn't seem to notice the e-log sticker on the side of the truck. perhaps intentional?

The Pre pass and easy pass all in one does show the truck company and truck number it's registered to, but it doesn't send or show your weight, when you aproch the scales ramp there is a monitor hanging over the highway, right before or at it there is scale pads built into the highway, as you cross them it weighs you and tells the pre pass green to go if ok or red to stop if over weight,if you get green and go on when you go under the next monitor it picks up the pass telling if you were ok or running the scales. and e-logs you don't have to print out to show them, the dot officer in the scale house can bring it up by just your name and the trucking company and trk number, it is on file nation wide. I run both e-logs and pre-pass,after i got used to them i love them, protects both you and the company,by the way,pre-pass also covers alot of the tole roads too. Keep em sunny side up brothers and remember (DON'T FEED THE BEARS)

Your elogs are not accessible inside the coops by an officer.
