His only restriction is air brakes? What would be the point in that? That's a completely useless CDL unless that's all he wants to drive. At least the auto restricted drivers can drive a tractor trailer.Hulld Thanks this.

That's what I'm saying. I don't want any restrictions.

Just contacted my school. They said they recieved a lot of phone calls about it. They explained to me that they confirmed this information with DOT last year when I was in school/ class and now saying DOT is back tracking on their word. Big wigs are trying to figure something out. School said DOT is backtracking all the way to July 2015 and sending the notices out. Guess it's a finger pointing battle right now. Said to call back in a few weeks to see if they come up with an answer.
25(2)+2, ZVar and deathB4decaf Thank this. -
Good luck and don't forget to update us!

We are in the process of phasing out our manuals in a 20+ truck fleet.
Nothing funny about that but all the drivers had to attend a 2 hour class on proper operation of automatic transmissions since no one had driven a truck w one...loldeathB4decaf Thanks this. -
i certainly WOULD NOT call back in a FEW weeks..
i'd either be calling or GOING IN PERSON...WEEKLY for an update..
you gotta make plans NOW so that when the school(s) down there gradumacate other students, you are not last in line for a road test and miss any deadlines for a "freebie" road test.singlescrewshaker Thanks this. -
I've got home time coming up at the end of January so hopefully they figure it out by then so I can retest if need be.
Kind of hard to do in person updates while being otr 48 for 3 months at a time. So all I can do is call in weekly.
Dot states I have till September 2019 to retest. -
and if you are out 3 months at a time, you run the risk of not being home, in any time to spare, to have an appointment made for a road test.
good luck to you -
I can give my company a 14 day notice to get me home for a scheduled appointment. No risk, just need to know what the school/ DOT resolutions going to be.
Thank you
