I believe they're saying they want to separate because they know that's what people want to hear. I'm starting to think they never intended too. If they do they'll still do things the same way. Can you inbox me your Quality contact? Mine won't return my calls, it's time to explore other companies. That 60 day or 90 day waiting period isn't going to work.

Down payment depends on which truck program and what you bring to the table ... if you are coming from the outside it could be between $2k and $3.5K out of pocket ... if you run as company driver for as little as month, the down payment can be financed. Sometimes IEL will run specials to take over an existing lease with no down payment.

As far as my deal ... Swifts program is mileage based, both mt and loaded paid, plus a nominal FSC. Base plates and tolls paid. Only out of pocket is tractor payment and insurance. There are other optional services - ATBS, deductible buy down, glass insurance .... etc.

As far as loads you can request your DM contact the planners. You can access a micro load board - a QC query for loads 24 hours before your PTA, you get 3 loads offered, you can accept or re-query. As of 2 weeks ago you can also call the planners directly and work with them for a load or a stack.

The real opportunity is the broker program. Swift has a broker you can call directly and negotiate a rate. The broker is tied into Swift and can tell what the cut is that Swift will want on any given lane. So your are negotiating the rate directly to your truck .... overall I average about 65% if the line haul and 100% of the FSC on broker loads - sometimes more, sometime less.

The caveat on the broker program, OTR solo primarily, currently only 400 drivers on the program and there is a waiting list ... so one can't necessarily go to Swift and get right on the program.

If you know how to work with people - DMs, planners - you can get your mile here. In 4 years 9 months to date, I've run 555,495 loaded miles. Plus 50,418 paid empty miles for a total of 605,913 paid dispatched miles ... I take about 11 weeks off a year.

    Loke and fr8monkey Thank this.

Never worked so little in my life and my cardiologist said this career has been the cure for what ails me.

Well don't talk a lot with Swift. I'm constantly in the brokers ear, though.
