Good deal, yeah so many guys from Eagle tried to get on with Mercer, that they had to put a hiring freeze in place.

After awhile I really didn't even want to go there coz it's still broker freight and I'm doing broker freight now but don't have to deal with them too much .... It really isn't my strong point
I just do better on a mileage +FSC based program .controlling my costs, running my truck, thinking about terrain, running areas, fuel mileage,pu and delivery times lol,it's to hard to factor in flaky brokers shxx, hunting freight then negotiating blah blah I hated it! But now I know from experience haha
RERM Thanks this. -
Hey fr8 can give us info on greatwide. Same thing you did on Eagle. Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
-
I
I can try? But it's a very fragmented and not very cohesive company especially if u look at the cardinal and greatwide threads
and don't kid yourselfs it only says GREATWIDE on your truck only everything else is CARDINAL! Payroll, email websites lol it's all being gobbled up dissolved or otherwise being taken over by Cardinal and it is hard to get any GOOD INFO AT Least that's what I've found after looking... A lot of greatwide websites are just redirected to cardinals website
But here's what I do know is about my fleet...
Greatwide I think has various fleets and agents u can just run for an agent I think Cardinal has mostly dedicated customers
Funny thing is I got a pre hire for a Cardinal dedicated position but stupid me went with the eagle lol
I don't know what other fleets pay but mine pays 1.12 +FSC but no trl rental,so my costs are around 750-768? And I'm not forking over that 25% to eagle every week! Best thing tho is the fuel discount! I'll try to up load a settlement so u can see it and maybe think about starting a thread but like I said it's very fragmented and most Cardinal and greatwide threads have just died and I don't know why!scottlav46 and Loke Thank this. -
Cuz y'all are slammed and way too busy rackin up miles n takin home paper to be postin on ttr
-
Lol
there's some truth to that
I'm working on my best mileage week since here,if I deliver Friday or Saturday .... Simple 1800 miles Covington Tennessee to Ontario California 120 empty miles to El Cajon to oak ridge Tennessee 2170 miles I believe that's north of 4000 miles Friday to Friday or Saturday
scottlav46 Thanks this. -
Thanks. I was at Eagle also, great idea bad execution.scottlav46 and fr8monkey Thank this.

Yeah that's right in theory eagle SEEMS GREAT until u do it! All I know was one week I booked myself and generated 6350.00 and came away with 1800 after all the deductions and I know how to fuel! After that I pretty much said f this! You know they got a fuel discount but never passed it on to the guys paying for fuelFLCRACKER Thanks this.

Yeah ... the overhead was/is brutal with no truck payment it was penciling out to $400-$450 a week ... plus tolls on top of that
With my current carrier I'm at $79 a week and tolls covered ... my only cost is fuel and maintenance.Loke Thanks this. -
Yeah and I really couldn't get past the 25% coz I just didn't feel they even come close to earning it! If it was 25% of a decent rate maybe, but they were getting harder and harder to find! It was brutal for dry van especially no good paying customer freight yikes! it's part of the reason I stopped running in the east was the tolls.... Really ate into every rate.....yup my tolls and scales, lumpers are covered
