Talked to the recruiter for Henderson today. They are full up on company drivers, but they said I could lease... No, thanks...
She said she would call if any company trucks get empty in the next few weeks, but it could be a while. The nationwide trend is that turnover for these companies has went down to nearly ZERO. Everyone who has a job is keeping said job. I still have one, but its next to not having one. I'm sitting all the time.
Oh, well. Is there anyone on here who currently working at Henderson in Salem that can give us some updated information?
Thanks for the help.

Seen many at the produce shacks. Haven't heard any serious complaints yet. Equipment....not a fan of centuries, but they were new looking and clean. Also the apu's show they must care somewhat while many have to sweat or freeze to meet their idiot company policies on idle time. Already know the costs of idling and such, been o/o most of my career. IF a company doesn't have an alternative for idling, that's a big red flag before setting foot in their equipment.
trucker43 Thanks this. -
I'm supposed to go to an orientation for Henderson Trucking on a lease program. What I've read so far on this company is mixed reviews, from the guy that went to school and now his Dad works for them, to a couple of guys leaving during the orientation program. I don't know what to do for certain, but I'll let ya'll know after I go....whether I stuck it out, or left orientation without a truck. Keep on drivin' ya'll.
ciao for now!!!!!trucker43 Thanks this. -
I worked there in '05/'06. Ca/Az only. I lived in S.Ca. Was home every w/e, then moved to Kingman. Was still home every w/e. Then they moved the drop lot to Kingman, I was in hog heaven. Good company then, started at .38, bumped up to .40, then .41.............. Even had a trailer ripped off while on home time. I never even called them on the phone, did all the communication via Q-comm and was dispatched within 2 hours. Got burned out doing the produce thing, left the truck at Kingman drop lot Which is/was the Freightliner dealer, but they gig me on DAC for abandonment. Didn't affect future jobs. I'll say they are struggling as are most companies to keep afloat and stay profitable. Heard they want mostly teams and no more regional. Your paycheck is good, no mess ups in payroll. (payroll is a 3rd party vendor)

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Is Kingman hot enough for ya'? take care....thanks again for that note.

I work for them started in February and I lease had only 2 wks were i have ran less than 2500 miles i avg about 3200 miles a week. Look like every company they are gonna have some issues but none that are that major they cannot be fixed. Yes they are not taking on anymore company drivers and they make sure if you are leasing you will get the miles. But like everywhere Henderson has some lazy driviers that don't care about the appointments and won't put forth the extra effort. Overall I give them a Bt

I work there too. I am neither lazy, or "not willing to do whatever" to get the job done. That said, I do ok, but I don't even average 2500 miles. I am a company driver though. Maybe lease drivers get preference over me, I don't know.
I would NEVER go into the lease deal at Henderson, or any company for that matter. While I believe Henderson is more honest than lets say CR England, or Swift, I still don't think it would be in my best interest. I have been there one year, and have dozens of people come and go within weeks of starting. There is a reason for that. Not enough miles to actually bring home a check large enough to support a family.
Do as you please, I wish you the best of luck, and maybe I will see you there one day happy as can be. Hope it will be that way for you. -
I have a few freinds there one runs teams and the other solo. They say they are getting plenty of miles but they are only home about every three weeks. One has a brand new cascaidia, the other guys only have about 70,000 miles so they both have nice trucks. They seem to like it ok .
