Most driver applications ask either if you have had a felony conviction within a certain time frame or if you have ever had a felony conviction. I doubt that it would turn up on a civilian background check. You can always pull a criminal background check on yourself from your local sheriff or police. They can usually do a local or state or national check.

Serious charges,
as far as employers are concerned.
Personally,
I'd be up front about it...... -
The army I was in give you a discharge sheet which is only issued once and you can never get a copy. If its lost, its your word only as the military will tell you that it is confidential and go fly a kite. If you go and get a police clearance and its shows " nothing recorded ", that's the end of the story. You left because you did not like it. I worked for the US Military for two years and let me tell you, i met many a soldier who was in because it was a choice between proper jail or serve your country and get a clean record.

If it does not show up on a background check I would not offer the information but would answer any questions if asked, providing the information is not sensitive.
You can have the background check done privately to see what it turns up. -
TWIC/Hazmat check, will NOT pull that info up.
Now,
apply to buy a pistol, and see what shows up ! -
Guys are right.... mums the word. Did what you had to and made it out. Pull a check on yourself and know what they will see before they do.
Good luck -
Your good dont tell them i have a friend who got a felony in brazil for possession of weed. They just wanted his money for the fine.It doesnt show up in the U.S.He even got a gun permit and works for an amored car company.Trucking companies or any company for that matter dont do world wide criminal checks. That would be to expensive and as we all know companies want to spend the least as possible.Dont worry just apply and dont say anything.Thanx for your service wish i had a big company you would be the first i hire.
