Thanks for the posts and the support everyone.

initially the iraqi police tried to but i would not let them, later the my own unit took me into custody and signed the proper doc's for court martial.

A lot of companies use sterling, I think you can pull your own background with them for around$20 if memory serves me right
felonneedsajob Thanks this. -
What's on the bottom of your DD-214? Does it show a court marshal or just a dishonorable discharge?
I would think those records are military sealed top secret and no civilian will know about it. -
its a bad conduct, one step lower than a dishonorable (not that it helps), and a lvl 4 re-enlistment code (meaning hell no).
-
Where do you live?
-
not to far from ft. bragg nc.

Duh.... i think i know that but its still a felony from another country. Just like when a soilder is shot in iraq and dies six months later in the U.S it doesnt count as killed in action buddy. What happens over seas stays over see just like vegas baby.....If this is what you want to do then go for it.You served this country why make it harder on yourself to find a job companies should be begging to hire you. -
Yeah they'll know then. Be up front and honest. They might not know the details but they'll know you've been in prison. Felons are hired everyday. There might be a 3-5 year disqualification period.
Background checks are done on different levels depending on the sensitivity of the job. They can get expensive therefore some might not dig too deep. You can order copies of your DD-214 with the bottom blanked out. It's not everyone's business.
Another thing is states offer expungements. One time they will seal your records so you can get a job. I'm not sure if it would cover military trouble but it's worth checking in to.
If you can't get a job trucking today, there will be a day when you can.
See a BCD only means one thing... One can put 2+2 together.
