Hey guys just wondering whats the easiest way to get experience with a trucking company? Would being a yard driver/dock worker be the easiest way to get experience or move up to a driver in a company? All ideas wanted thanks.

When trucking companies are looking for experience, they are usually talking about OTR experience. Personally, I would be looking more for close quarters experience, but what do I know....I don't write insurance policies.
Anyway, the easiest way to get that is sign on with one of the big training companies. It might bite, but if you can put in two years without incident, you can pretty much write your own ticket.rollin coal Thanks this. -
Any other answers?

That won't do a thing for you....
As Injun mentioned....
Your best bet is to sign on with a large fleet company, put your time in (1yr or so) and then do what you want and go where you want to go...
..there is NO SHORTCUT to being a trucker overnight.

Experience doesn't come quick and easy. Get er done. Yard jockey, local won't count for squat if you ever want to run regional or longhaul otr. You will figure out that's how companies look at it if you don't take my word and experience it .
