HI, I have a 03 Pete 387 with a C15 single turbo 500hp and a 13spd manual eaton.. Sometimes when I am in the higher gears, the tranny cuts out and starts again in a second, (as if the power to the truck got cut off and on although the gauges and engine work fine without any power loss)..
Sometimes it does it, sometimes it don't.. Sometimes it can do it 5-20 times in a row.. Could it be a computer problem? I have jake brake problems and ABS problems and VERY OFTEN my gauges will start going back & forth non stop.. sometimes only the fuel gauge acts up.. I have tore through wiring and came down to my engine computer, could the ECM also be the reason for the tranny problems?
Eaton 13 speed is acting up. As if the power gets cut on/off on/off,

I may have had similar problem, but its hard to tell for sure.
I was driving a 8LL. While under load and accelerating, the transmission gears in the splitter were worn and would cause the transmission to feel like it was in neutral. Getting off the throttle would allow the gears the reengage. Then it would be ok until I tried to give it too much torque. -

could be bad slippery clutch out of adjustment;

sounds like a wireing problem

Sounds like you have electrical issues. Not transmission. Check the engine speed sensor on the cut out issue. It's on the front structure on drivers side in front of and a little above the compressor. The gauge issue sounds like bad ground to cab or engine. Need more info for the jakes but could also be engine ground

I still think it sounds like like broken teeth on some gears somewhere if the engine is still running fine and it "feels like the transmission". Sounds exactly what mine did when the power divider crapped out. Like it would slip, the motor was still going just fine and the rpms would NOT rev up during that "slippage", then it would catch and be fine again. Would do it intermittently. Get a mechanic to ride shotgun for a test drive down the road to replicate the problem and see what they think about that. Although he most definitely has some electrical gremlins also that sounds like a separate issue. Pull the drain plug on that front differential and look for metal chunks and shavings. Check the rear one also. They can slip a camera in the fill hole and spin the wheels looking to see if any teeth are broken off the ring gear. If no teeth are missing from the ring gears but there's metal chunks in that front diff it's the power divider.

If I missed that part about engine running fine then I agree and would say it is probably the power divider. Could be ring gear but that's less likely

Had a problem. Gages, loss of power, all those issues. Then the truck died after a month. I have the Road Relay as well. All said....starter relay switch was bad.
