just got in a little bit ago from getting all the stuff and trans. I guesss the parts guy thinks like you becuase with the flywheel, new bolts with the loctite already installed was taped to the box from cat. I was nervous about reusing the old bolts and low and behold had new bolts. I remeber chatting with you in another thread about this ordeal. Keep checking in if you dont mind. Im not gonna start on the install tomorrow becuase ill be changing out clutch linkagae and foot valve and getting things ready.

just fyi, i bought and used the 300 dollar harbor freight 2 ton trans jack to remove the trans. ALso used 20 percent off coupon. The trans input splines were stuck in the clutch and was a bear to remove. I used a prybar and kicking and swearing to remove. But just saying, the harbor freight jack worked. I dont know what a good truck trans cost but im assuming i saved a bit of money. Should be easier to install the trans with it. So im throwing out a good review for harbor frieght

didnt mess with trans today. I installed new clutch linkage and new brake foot valve. Had other things to do. Ill probably start assembling trans tomorrow.
I assumes bellhousing gasket doesnt need addional sealant for additional protection against leaks?
Whats the bellhousing torque specs? I recall someone mentioning earlier in the this thread to use loctite on bellhousing bolts. My old ones had antiseieze on them.
Also, trans came with speedo gear and new yoke nut. I looked at parts diagrahm on eaton to make sure i have all my ducks in a row, but if you look at the picture below, it shows a washer like part called a "sheild" in between speedo gear and yoke. Then i looked at eaton rtlo service manual, it doesnt mention that part when installing speedo and the yoke. Part number 14 in the diagrahm

Be careful with that jack. Check snap rings, I added brass washers to take the wiggle out of it. Also beefed up top plate, added bigger top plate and channel. Side adjuster knob is useless, unscrews when turning counter clockwise. Welded nuts in place of both adjuster knobs. Bearings for for/ aft adj. fall apart. Need to add 2 nuts onto adjuster screw, similar to side adjuster. To lock into place.

dam thanks for this, i noticed while taking trans out i couldnt adjust the rotation of the #### thing. So you are saying to just remove the cheap ### knob and weld some nuts on there? That sounds like a plan!! that way i can adjust with my wrench. Looks like you welded angle iron to top plate. I have a bunch of steel laying around, ill have to do a mock up tomorrow and fab and weld something up that fits the trans to jack like you did

I bolted a larger plate to existing plate, added slotted angle to bigger plate. The washer/ roller bearings, will crumble under adjustment pressure. They’re useless. Best to remove nylon locking nut, take them off, put 2 nuts in between pivot points, put nylon nut back on, to lock in movement, like they have on the rotation bolt. The brass washers, got them at ACO. Tightened it up.

Whats the torque spec on aluminum housing for bellhousing to motor? I keep reading 55 foot pounds. Does that sound right? Blue loctite on bellhousing bolts and clutch bolts?

For years it was 50ft/lb on a Pete, seems like 55 is the new number. KW always listed torque in ECAT with bolt P/N's. I have seen for a 7/16-14 bolt from 50 to 75 ft/lb.
