Yeah it was a company drivers truck and I know for sure from other drivers that the guy was an idiot. Starting off in high gear popping wheelies with 24 ton payload.

normal wear on a high mile clutch. Not uncommon to have the springs break apart and fall out. Cracking/breaking around the springs is normal too

    Really?????

Funny how everyone on this site jumps down your throat every time its suggested that 4th gear is too high to take off in. Guess if a Swift trainer says to do it, take it as gospel :biggrin_2559:

Holy crap! Dam. Mine wasn’t that bad but it must have been cut a million times instead of it being replaced. Thanks for that pic. That is incredible. I put same clutch in that you did and adjusted it today. First time I stepped on clutch I was like wtf? That thing is light for a 2050.
Today I shimmed my pto and a bunch of other things. I’ll hook everything else up tomorrow. Keep getting sidetracked.

Put it this way. If you have to give it throttle to lift off, your in to high of gear .
    Take that as gospel.

I work in dusty conditions. I sealed up both lower crossshaft bores that aren’t used in the bellhousing to keep contaminates out. Was that ok to do or is there a reason such as cooling that they don’t make plugs for the holes not used. I checked Eaton’s parts list
