Recently, when under a load, when it starts to lug down a bit, it acts like I just ran over a patch of ice......tach reves about 2-300 rpm and then catches. Or if I try to use too much throttle while accelerating.

That's the best way I can describe it.......if you've ever ran over a random patch of ice on an otherwise clear road, you'll know what I mean

Hi Ho Cairo from just up the street in Albany!!

So, is this a $400-$600 deal, or is it a catastrophic $10,000 major rebuild?

How long do I have? Am under a 20k load at the moment going to Quincy, the a 20k load to Columbia SC. I was thinking that booking a 44k load that goes over Jellico or Black Mountain would be a mistake. But, could I book something out of Columbia going to a good shop in Atlanta or Nashville or even Columbia??

Any suggestions on a shop in the southeast would be helpful as well

    Thanks to all who helped.....

You can have the adjustment done at most truck shops. Shouldn't take more than half an hour. Until then, avoid the heavy loads and big hills as best you can. When it begins slipping, let off the throttle slightly, until the slipping stops. You may have to shift down a few gears extra

generally a clutch adjustment they usually charge about an hour laboryou can have that done just about at any truck shop. Worst case scenario if you need a new clutch the clutch itself is about a thousand bucks and it's about a 10 hour in labor job

If its a hood with a 15 1/2 9 spring plate which is most expensive clutch we get 2000.00 turn key at my shop which includes turning flywheel and thru shaft bushings. If its something like a columbia or volvo it goes up from there. I'm not trying to hustle up business just trying to give you a real world figure. BAHA hit it straight on the head with adjustment and fuel lines asap

Just read the truck specs lol some where between 2250 and 2500 if adjustment won't cure it. Should take a day to day and a half at most.
