Hey guys i got a dump truck with eaton rears. The power divider has a mess of slop in it. Yolk moves in and out quite a bit. I cannot afford new parts. Any suggestions as to how to fix this semi cheap. I might use it twice a month. Maybe. The diffs are tight. Its an older truck. The pd was rebuilt at some point.can someone help me with this teardown im kinda lost.

You say older, what year is it?
Im just trying to figure which eaton...402 or 404.
Sounds like input shaft bearing bad or The front bearing retainer may need re shimmed.
Are you checking for slop when the rear end is cold or warmed up?SAR Thanks this. -
Big trucks big bucks. Not trying to be an ### but that's how it is. If it's a 402 Eaton 500 bucks will catch the parts off flea bay

If it's a 402 there is a coil spring that sits in a pocket behind the input shaft. It tensions the tapered bearing on input. There bad to break or just be gone. Get a parts diagram and you will see that spring.
