There is a Pete here that did not have a reverse detent for a few years.
The clutch needed replaced and we knocked the top off. Found the jam nut, spring and plunger missing. Replaced them and life is good.
It does have a chip out of a gear tooth. It was running then and still running a year later.
I am just thanking someone has been there with his transmission as well.
