Hi all, I've got this truck with Ultrashift plus that for some reason doesn't differentiate between pulling 130k up a hill or going bobtail down a hill. It always changes gears at the exact rpms regardless of weight, grade or throttle pressure. I've been in the shop 4 times for recalibration and changing of the changing sequence with no change in behavior. Eaton says it needs recalibration, but the shop says it has the right calibration and it works as it should. Is it just me thinking it doesn't make sense for the computer to try and skip from 9th(5L) to 11th(6L) going 130k up the black mountain? It is the first Ultrashift and I'm not impressed. Of course I can drive it in manual like I've done from day 1 since I've had the truck, but since I've paid for the thing, I might as well try to make it work. Thanks in advance.
if it's acting erratic put it in manual and shift where you want it to shift, after a few cycles it will learn what you did, when you put it back in auto it will shift where you shifted, more or less
I've been driving it in manual for the last 18 months with no change. Even if I put it in auto after driving it for a while in manual (couple of hours for example), it still doesn't change where I want it.
