I got a 13spd this time and man do I miss my Autoshift. Shifting a manual sucks, I'll gladly pay the price over the years to have a AMT again!

Not just for company drivers... Well, I drive for my company.
-
I sure got no plans to go back... Funny thing is, I almost did when I ordered my 660, but my gal reminded how many times I told her I was happy about the M Drive in my Mack. Really, really, really happy she did.KB3MMX Thanks this.

I drove a first Gen Eaton auto shifter and I was a pain to back up because of the rpms. The new ones are just fine though, getting them to engage comeing out of a pit takes some getting use to but I like them.

Looks like you don't have privilege to drive manual. I enjoy it. Although it's a 10 speed, still enjoy it.

I hear ya!!
That M Drive is one SWEET setup!! -
Not sure I understand your post....
What do you mean "looks like you don't have privilage to drive manual" ????

Ok.... for those that have extensive experience with the two pedal variety.... are all the kinks worked out so that they are reliable for a person that does many drop and hooks a week, sometimes in pothole dirt lots, or someone that goes into the caves around KC and has to do quite a few pull ups, back ups, to maneuver around the posts and into some rather tight docking situations? Does it create abusive clutch warning situations? Are the reliable enough that one could feel reasonably confident they are not going to put a fender into a wall underground?
Not in the market for anything yet, but planning ahead. have had my eyes on the Allison TC10 automatic, but it is limited in availability. Seems the automated manuals rule the roost so far. Just not confident about them. So, anyone with some real serious experience in dealing with more than just running up and down the road or heavy traffic, please chime in. Especially if you have taken these things into the caves and nasty dirt lots doing drop and hook frequently.
I know there are 3 pedal varieties, just curious about how well the 2 peddle versions handle all of this. -
I pull a flat with mine, 3.08 rears with 70,000 miles, haven't seen the clutch protection light yet. Been on dirt trails I didn't want to be on going to oil rig sites, been in Mississippi mud, no issues here. Only time I drop my trailer is when I'm home, but I don't see you having an issue.

There are only TWO good Auto Shifts:
1. The Volvo I-Shift/Mack M-Drive
2. Detroit DT-12
I know the DT-12, you lift your foot off the brake and reverse automatically engages, there is no jumpiness.
