My ECM got fried and I need to replace it in a 2014 T680 paccar mx13

Techs think ECM is able to be fixed but will need to be reflashed.

Will that erase all previous data the the ELD needs to have a history of the operation of the truck?

Reflash means to go deep into the computer and reborn it with basic default information so that it will know what it is supposed to do.

I don't know too much about reflash except you cannot and must not take power away from the device undergoing it otherwise it's permanently bricked, a paperweight. Dead, kaput, nothing in it.

Whatever was on it before should also go away and whatever happens after will be brand new to it.

Which is why you need paper logs so that at any time your computers burn up you can maintain your HOS, Recap last 8 days and continue on until it's fixed.

Yes ECM can be rebuild and re flashed.
Now ELD can be rebuild but are so cheap you are better buying a new one.
