Editing logs after the fact is one thing ... but sending a QC message after admitting to it?
Sounds like something that will come back to bite them one day.

The editing of e-logs by companies is rampant. I have talked to several drivers from companies who routinely chop time off the drivers entries to service a customer. The driver can not change line 3 entries yet I talked to a driver who drove 620 miles on I-5 and his logs showed 11.16 and he went into the terminal came back out and his logs showed 10.59 drive time and 600 miles. Another driver ran out of 70 was going to pu 4 hrs after midnight but load del at 2200. The company cut all line 4 entries down for the week to give him another hr to del the load on time.
All drivers on E-logs are supposed to confirm the entries just like paper logs each day. If someone other then you has messed with your logs I would not confirm the logs. If something happens on the time they gave you to work, they will probably change it back and say you where running illegal against safety edicts. And most of the time you can shut them up by not answering your phone and making them put on the qualcomm their requests to drive illegal. -
Well they sent me a message on the ccom.. and said we are going to edite your logs.. I call pa DOT and they said they don't handle things like that and I called FMCC and they said they can do anything cause I didn't cross state lines when this happend?? Well I was ###### if I did and ###### if I didn't.. Either way I am still with out a job now.

Well...you would've done better not breaking the law than breaking it...I'm sure that's why you're having a hard time finding work...any reputable company would have no issue with you refusing to break the law that would be looking to hire you than someone who knowingly broke the law.

The authorized co. rep and his designates ( T.O.M. and dispatch) have full command of the e-log and can edit anything they want , anyway they want HOWEVER....
the edit is noted in the log as a supervisor edit. The edited log and all others are retained on a live server for the next six months THEN archived on a back up for years to come....like 5.
This is to protect Q.C. , Peoplenet, Teletrac etc. from blow back for exactly what your talking about.
You will find work........ -
That would be in direct contrast to the regulation that says all entries shall be made by the the driver only..how do they get away with"alterating" driver's logs ?? If they can do that it should no longer be called " drivers" log
