It means that the engine ECU has a code in it. ECU 128 only identifies the module, it is not a fault code. Can you hit a dash button and get more numbers? You should also get a PID/SID and FMI number, which is the actual fault code, the only thing I can tell you is that you have a fault in the engine ECU, I need more info. Different trucks display faults in different ways. Post exactly what is says.
Once you get the code info, the kind of engine and year/model of the truck would be nice too.Oldironfan Thanks this. -
On the truck in my signature, I can use the + and - buttons on the steering wheel along with the trip reset button to cycle through the different readouts on the little display to bring up the SID/FMI number. I forget exactly the way to do it, sometimes you have to hold down the buttons and for another step you have to just press. Play around with it for a bit and you should be able to get them to come up.

I have been getting that code for years it comes and goes,I just ignore it.With these new emissions trucks the sensors will set off false warnings.Sometimes even your check engine light and emissons light will come on,And when you take it to the dealer its off and guess what they cant find nothing wrong.
Oldironfan Thanks this. -

Freightliner columbia 2008 engine detriot 60series evil 128 pid351fail 3 failed 1

Turbocharger compressor inlet temp circuit failed high. This could be a wiring or connection issue, or a failed sensor. First check the plug for moisture, corrosion, bent/loose pins, etc. Give each wire at the plug a good tug to make sure they're not broken internally.Oldironfan Thanks this.

He's posting exactly that. My truck is saying that same fault code as well as ABS 136. So I feel your pain. This only short up after I blew a turbo line yesterday morning while I was sleeping, the engine shut down, as supposed to, now I have these new faults, I'm going to hook up to the ecu Monday and find out
-
They are not fault codes, they are module identifiers. ECU128 is the engine ECU, ABS136 is the ABS. You should be able to toggle to another screen to give SID/PID and FMI #'s. Without that, I all can tell you is that you have an engine and an ABS fault.Oldironfan Thanks this.
