Maybe they will cap it for smaller operations. I dunno anything about electronic logs never used them. They could be a good thing, who knows. Some guys seem to enjoy them, but I think I'll stay with paper. Better for my set-up.

If everyone runs their logs legal DOT will find other places to write tickets. They want everyone to have brand new equipment, run everything legal, but they still need to make money for their state, so they don't want anyone to be too perfect or they will be out a job. I don't know much about computers, but I do know that there will be some kind of software to bypass the system or something. Probably already is.

Paper is nice, but it's over folks. They're coming and no way to stop it. How many of you all are waiting to the last week to get one is the question?

I figure, I'll be home over Christmas, then you have a dead season....i might as well not run for a few weeks, and if they indeed have to be mounted, then i will. I will wait until the last minute. It is still unclear what shape and form they have to be, or at least I've no idea.

A friend of mine is leased onto Long Haul. He said when they went to eld's a few years ago it took a couple months to get used to running with them. I guess my advice would be to not wait until the last second.

I'm been using ELD for like 2 years. They do take a little getting used to but paper seem so old now and waist of time. A digital log book very nice I think.

If people get them before hand you have time to adjust to them and see how or if it will have any affect on you driving hours. Then you can adjust things as needed.
