ELD costs, who is to pay for it????

    I thought I read an article about Trans Am Trucking? that the court said they cant charge owner/ops or make them use a specific ELD? anybody else read this? I cant find the article.

    Now remember, all that case states is that the carrier cannot force the fee via them. What they can do is mandate a specific make/model of ELD and require the o/o to use it. The o/o can then buy it from the carrier, or the oem and pay whichever one they want to.

    In reality all it does if prevent the carrier from making money on the rental/usage fees. The o/o still has to pay.
