LOL!!! I remember picking up the last few in Uniontown Alabama heading to FPL in Augusta. The last 1000 lb Charlois heifer got to the trailer, turned around to head back and saw the last gate to the pen was closed. She raised up on her back legs and head butted that gate, just about caved it in. Then, unphased, she walk casually onto the trailer. I was impressed and horrified at the same time. I’ve never pull the rope on the trailer faster in my life.

The biggest tallest Scariest looking cows I ever hauled were a pair of oxen.
they were the most calmest docile cows I ever hauled but also the most intimidating.
I literally couldn’t put them in the belly because when they went down the steps there backs hit on the top deck.Tall Mike, Feedman, spyder7723 and 1 other person Thank this. -

Sorry sir... you livestock haulers go thru a lot and do an extremely hard and dangerous work... I guess only you folks can do it...
BTW, I saw once or twice women hauling animals.... one of them was not big... I mean she didn't look very strong at all... but I guess she had to be pretty strong to deal with the animals and all that... God bless you all... stay safe....Last edited: Mar 25, 2018
Hulld Thanks this. -
Disclaimer: i have never hauled cows commercially, just my own or for local farmers as favors. I have hauled thoroughbred race horses for hire, and quite a lot of them. My limited experience says id rather haul steel. Less painful than cows or horses.dancecanyon, Hulld and Feedman Thank this. -
I hate long earred cattle, if they gots a hump in there back its worse.
What the e-log cheer leaders haven't seen yet is cruelty to animals is a felony in some states. Arkansas being one of them. Without using the fancy words cruelty is defined as not providing proper care to animals in your care, not that you own. Feed, water, shelter etc letting them cook in the trailer in a Flyin J parking lot in South Arkansas on a july day cause your on your 10 hour break keeps the felony charges at bay. Last i seen a log book aint a felony. So thats my choice. A closed mind will always have a rebuttle on this subject from both sides. I think us getting an exemption is proof in the pudding it wasn't about safety nor was it thought through well.
Nothing about it is right or wrong black or white. -
