    Thanks.
I toned it down a little .I had to edit my original post,I had a few choice words in there the moderators would have had some issues with.
Elogs are a sore spot with me. I honestly thought elogs wouldn't have become law. I thought,no way,it's too
Ridiculous.I thought Trump would have done something last minute to knock it down ,with all his anti regulation talk. But here we are living with this non sense. Watch the non sense June 5,6,7 when they have they're national DOT blitz ,they're theme this year is HOS violations(Elog enforcement). I was DOT inspected 5 times this year in a month and a half after Dec 18th by newly Badged DOT cops and veterans training for enforcement of elog enforcement . Twice in the same week. Each time for over an hour and one had me there for 2 hours . All were pretty clueless on the elogs and every time I emailed them my logs, they said it didn't go through to them, even though it showed it was sent out properly on my end.I didn't get any violations or warnings on my elogs, just some stupid minor #### like a reverse light being out ,and a license plate light out.I always carry spares and fixed it right there.
NY State hired 160 new DOT inspectors on top of the 600 they already had with the money given to them by the federal government to implement this BUll ####. The new ones are all gung ho with their new position and elog enforcement ,while some of the older DOT cops are kind of annoyed by it,but have to learn how to enforce it.The new ones are particularly annoying over doing it with "Driver " This and "Driver" that ,barking orders at you like theyre a prison guard and your the prisoner. Over compensating for they're lack of experience ,showing off in front of the older DOT cops . Just what you don't need more of when your just out there busting your ### to make a living ,to take care of your family. Some 25 year old Who was working at Walmart last year ,who now has a badge And a gun, wearing
Wrap around sun glasses ,sticking his chest out ,barking orders at you thinking Elog enforcement is the most important thing in the world, because that is how he got his new lifetime $100k a year job,and he has to justify his existence. Thats one reason I get pissed off
At some of the jerk offs on here praising elogs, and how we should love them . No clue to how
Much of their freedom they're give away to power hungry clowns, looking to jam expensive tickets up your ### to justify they're existence.

No body makes me run when im tired. Im tired right now as i lay here in my bunk getting ready to take a nap becuase im tired. The load will get there when i feel rested enough to continue on. No one in the government ever seems to be monitoring me , unless im in a weigh station , then im always greenlighted. Was monitored more on paper.
Do you send in a income tax return ?
Have you thought about trying a new industry where you dont have a master ?

Copy that! I wanted so bad to ask young Officer Spak if they let him have a real gun as he wrote me up for my brake lights being on with only 85 PSI in the tanks. He didn’t care they they went out when the spring brakes released. Told me it was a short in the wiring. And his supervisor won’t return my calls so now I am left with that useless DataQ system

No master here. Sounds like you live in a truck and if you're on an elog you are being monitored. Income taxes are a little different than you're every move being electronically monitored.it sounds like you love your Master. Been in this industry 31 years, also owned restaurants and real estate, all bought by being successful in this industry .Keep grabbing your ankles ,your master loves sub serviant slaves like you.

Spaks an arrogant little clown. The other DOT cops laugh when you mention his name . He definitely has a "Barney Fife"
Reputation among them. I had to go to court twice for ######## tickets he gave me. I beat them both in court, but still had to pay lesser fines .They have him training new DOT cops, just what we need Spak "Mini ME's".
They think he's a God since he has a reputation for writing a lot of tickets.
That picture is Spak and a bunch of new DOT cops inspecting me in New Paltz.
He asked me why I'm still running paper logs along with my elog.I told him it's not a perfected technology and I want to cover my ### if it goes down. He said all I need is 7 blank pages in case it goes down. I said what happens if it goes down. He said " Then ill have you re create your last 7 days " I said "You mean Guess what I did all last seven days every minute of my day? He said yes. I said do you remember what you had for lunch a few days ago. He didn't have an answer ,and we left it at that.Hes the perfect example of what should never have any position of power whatsoever. A little ugly man ,who probably got ##'ed with his whole life before becoming a cop,and now it's his turn to get back at society . Classic little man syndrome. The other veteran DOT cops don't like him and think he's a clown.

Most logical statement based on fact that I've read on ttr in a long time. Very refreshing from the nonsense usual spewed here.

That's a small part of why the rates went up. "Log Book
Falsification " did not make up that much of the lost capacity. The booming economy ,drivers retiring ( a large part of the driver population is older "baby boomer generation) ,drivers leaving the industry due to the whole concept of elogs. The driver shortage that has gotten worse( only 1 out of 4 new CDL drivers will last a year,a statistic that was on Overdrive radio). The tightening of medical card rules and drivers who are too un healthy to drive being forced out of the industry (most, still see some 400 pounders waddling across truck stop parking lots)and not being able to have a doctor give them a wink and a nod or making up false medical cards that they sell at truck stops and no one checking on them. The unreliable nature of new emmisions trucks constantly in the shop and other factors have created a perfect storm for rates to go up. Also brokers and companies capitalizing on an event (ELD drama and driver shortage)to charge more money, like fuel prices going up , it's partly supply and demand and partly manipulation behind closed doors .I don't see fleets getting competent at scheduling around elogs anytime soon as they have a hard enough time putting ###es in seats and are desperate for drivers,as many companies are. The economy is cyclical, and when a down turn comes ,capacity will creep up on demand ,but will be more of a reason for rates to stabilize or come down than fleets mastering their scheduling to compensate for ELDS.

    Deleted....The post above too similar...
I agree completely that paper log "cheating" having to do with capacity is way overrated.
There was a lot of cheating but most of it had to do with with being convenient on the road... not grabbing as many loads as possible. I would sure drive 2 hours past 11 to sleep at home, for instance.

This industry has a problem of attracting people and it is hard to find someone who would consider trucking as a career. Most of the driver I see are older and hardly see anyone younger than 40. I am in my mid thirties and honestly I am having a hard time meeting drivers my age. Being a driver sucks not because of our job itself , but because of @roadtech put as an example. I have been blessed and didn’t encounter DOT officers like that. But I do record all my inspections just in case.
