What was truly amazing is how OOIDA, or anyone else for that matter, thought the courts would put a hold on any of this. A government entity (courts) with their own political spin on the constitution stopping another government entity (again with it's own political slant on things) from doing something that another government entity (the legislature which most certainly has it's own political agendas) told them to implement. Even the most ardent Constitutionalist that holds to a originalist interpretation of the document has to admit that the legislature is the overriding factor in all things Constitutional. They can even limit the courts jurisdiction to decide cases regarding things if they so choose to. And they did that in something like 17 areas of the Obummercare legislation for instance.
This was just a money wasting adventure by OOIDA. Their heart may have been in the right place, but their mind was out to lunch. -
CrappieJunkie Thanks this.

If you run legal or mostly legal this won't change much for you. I'm sick of paper logbooks anyway...the carbon paper only works good for about 15 days before it starts bleeding and making a mess on your yellow copies.

That is pretty much it. I never was one to play fast and loose with HOS, so moving over to Elogs was little more than a bump in the road. Just some minor modifications to how I did things, but uneventful.

DTP and ReeferOhio Thank this.

Could be, but virtually all the nincompoops who did this are still in place in Congress. It would take a legislative action to repeal law that told FMCSA to do this. With all other stuff on the platter, my guess is this won't rate a blip on the radar this next year. But we can always hope.
wore out Thanks this. -
According to a companion article of the one in the link in the op, the concensus of expert opinion is that rates will increase 10-20% because of the loss of productivity.

We use carbonless preprinted, very unmessy.
