The most common issue with the Platform Science eld is the bluetooth buffer gets full, so discontenting from the tablet from the truck, killing all power to the truck for a minute, and logging out of the tablet will often clear things without a call to IT.

Since your truck is darn near brand new, what likely happened is the firmware on the 'black box' attached to the truck was out of date to the point that it wasn't accepting automatic updates.

In the future, as long as you can log into the eld you can email the last 8 days to yourself, then run paper (starting from where the eld failed) until you get to a safe place to make the call to IT. 90% of the time you'll be able to accept all the Unassigned Drive Time events, then a little editing of the on duty time and you're all set.

As long as the information on the eld is still retrievable?

It is because the information is automatically transmitted to the main frame at the home office. The tablet merely displays what is already known. As long as it was working properly, the main office has all the information. And like @gentleroger said, they can email your last 8 days to you. So, simply pick up where it left off and rock on.
