mark my words, after april 1st, there will be a astronomical increase in accidents from drivers rushing to beat the clock, and being stuck in a position to need to move their rig without any time left. there will be increased accidents on the roads, increased property damage from slow maneuvering under high stress, and there will be guys speeding like crazy, more so than since december to now.

in addition to this, and probably worse, there will be an increase in altercations at shippers/customers, which will no doubt lead to actual assaults and/or deaths, from customers requiring drivers to move their trucks after keeping said driver stuck for hours till the clock is gone. With ELDs now, you can roll around a bit before it will trigger drive time. With the new ELD thing that is supposed to come into effect, anything over 5mph will AUTOMATICALLY trigger drive time, recorded in seconds, that will immediately and irrevocably cut any break you had started. That means that if you're out of hours, you legit won't be able to even move, unless you crawl in 1st, or line 5 it, or log off. It's going to be a mess not even being able to move around a yard, or a truck stop. How long do you think it will take them to reassess the regulation after the see the carnage it will cause?

With AOBRD you can at least roll the truck a mile or so, with the new ELD you can't even move the truck without it triggering drive line. That seems like it will make it ridiculously tight to not get violations. Loading delays happen all the time, why is there no inter-plant movement or 'customer location movement' allocation? Drive line should only be for transit, on roadways. I'm on Schneider Qualcomm so we are grandfathered in with AOBRDs till December 2019, THANK THE LOWERED.

####in snowflakes. Always want to blame something or someone else. What happened to the days when people took responsibility for their actions?

You're saying no difference then? Just from observation, maybe it's just MAGA fever, but since December it seems like everyone has been HAULING TAIL. are they just thawing out from the winter? I don't remember it being this crazy last year this time.

That egg timer on the dash throws commonsense and reasonableness out the window. I'm just glad that I work for a company that tells me to complete the job, they will worry about the ELD. Works for me, and I am now slowing down and taking my time. And yes, I do go over the 14 hour clock, but I am much safer, like I used to be before we had to play beat the clock. No issues here. ;-)
