You drive for Walmart if I'm correct. How long have you been on a true Eld and what system are you using?
ELDs are going to get people hurt/killed

People net, about two days.
Before that QHOS.
But we are required to be on duty anytime that truck moves, and yes our log clerks check. If you are at a DC, store, or vendor you can do a yard move under 15 mph and inside of 1 mile while logged on duty per regulation.double yellow and sealevel Thank this. -
There's always the safe mature thing to do, when you've been regulated onto the shoulder, you obviously understand this. I just don't see how making the leash this EFFING tight is doing anything to enforce safety. Enforcing safety would be something like...add logging devices to trucks, tied to ECU, and let drivers continue to run as they like. Paper, AOBRD, whatever. Then increase the fine for discovered log violations to astronomical levels. Enforce the laws already in place, this above 5mph is ABSURD.IluvCATS Thanks this. -

Professional driver service here. Ready to RECEIVE YOUR LOAD...

If you're forced to exceed your 11, there's always the 'adverse driving conditions' exception. If you invoke that exception improperly then yes, it's all on you. Even on paper, it was the same.
If you exceed your 14 and don't qualify for the 16 hour short haul exception, then again, that's all on you. No change from paper logs.
The E-Log system doesn't radio to the nearest LEO so they chase you down when you violate HOS. Only you and your company's safety department know that you're in violation.
Quit stressing. If you have a valid reason, and can explain it to your safety department, then it's going to be a non-issue. If your safety department gives you #### about it, then it's probably time to find a new safety department. That new department can be found within another, better, company to work for.
There's a driver shortage. Use that to your advantage.DenBob, TallJoe, IluvCATS and 1 other person Thank this. -

I do an odd drive once in a while for a company I used to work for. I never drive more than 8 days in 30 so Im exempt from ELD. In other words I dont have a dog in the fight.
However, last couple times I drove I noticed they had opened the speed gov up from 65mph to 70mph. This was on two different vehicles.
Great job ELD huggers!!Justrucking2 Thanks this. -
