This story makes for a real sad day. To bust your ### all those years, be on the verge of finally kickin back, then, just like that it's all over. Bummer of an end. Rest In Peace fellow trucker. Prayers for you and your family.

I know of one who went out with his boots on doing what he could to save a family as the median came up crazily fast against his jackknife express some years ago. Essentially he took the hit. And no one else had to eat his rig.

Even after he was gone his spirit brought his truck to a safe stop so nobody else got hurt.

I disagree. The punitive portion of the settlement, that designed to punish the defendant( The PA Tpk Commission) from allowing that sort of incompetent maintenance procedures to put the public at risk will be large. But the larger it is, the more in tolls we all have to pay.

Exactly!!! That POS (Spendell) should hang from the tallest tree in Filthydelphia as a result of this.

I wish. But my money is on the state and the unlimited resources they could bring to bear in a courtroom. It will never go to court and a decent settlement will be offered to the widow and she'll take it to avoid all the BS and disguised insults she will have to tolerate in a courtroom.
