I got code SPN 627 ( power supply obsolete) at 2:58 and I checked my ELD to see what and where I was at that time. I was leaving truck stop after fueling at that time. So I drove 85 miles and my truck shuts down. While driving I got this code too SPN 2023 at 3:47 and it happened just 40 minutes after.

627 fmi 2 is power lost without key off. Cummins code 1117.
There is no Cummins code 627 fmi 4
2023 is from the cluster reporting loss data.

So I should focus on power supply from batteries and maybe replacing ignition switch?

For problems like yours, I take the main ecm power connector off, and load test the power and grounds with a head light bulb. Search here about load testing wires. The OEM connector at the ECM has ignition power coming in on pin 39. That also needs to be load tested with the key on. With a head light connected, I start to wiggle wires/harness and hope to find the light flicker, dim or go out, then you know you found the bad spot. In over 25 years, I have never ever replaced an ignition switch for this. The ignition switch turns several parts of the truck on through relays. If you had an ignition switch problem, most of the truck would shut off, not just the engine.

Can you help me pointing pin 39 ?
    There are 3 connectors
4 pin on the left (main power)
2 same connectors ( am I looking for pin 39 on the one closer to air filter(right side)or one closer to fan (left side)?

The one with your ignition is the one International makes up and installs. It will be all black loom. The other one will be the engine harness from Cummins and will be all red. The numbers are under the outer plastic cover. It is a pain in the butt to remove and see.

Thank you much for this info. I followed your instructions and did this check. I connected bulb to pin 39 and ground, shaked , twisted, took some zip off that were looking tight but light was on all the time. If I take off my ECM and take it to Cummins dealer are they gonna be able to check if ECM is bad?

Forum won't me reply to your private message for some reason. Any how, I can help you hear, and hopefully others can learn too. I am not sure what an actual Cummins shop can do with only the ecm by itself. For us, all we can do is connect to it, make sure it communicates and program it. For any internal problems, we do not open them up because it makes them harder to return for cores. There are shops out there that do open up ECMs and can repair internal circuitry. I do not know of any specifically as we do not get into that.

    Prostar2010 Thanks this.

    Any suggestions from here?
Btw is there relay for Lift (Prime) pump on my truck? I have been looking but I can not find it and not sure if there is one?
