Verizon doesn't offer unlimited anymore, hopefully Sprint will continue on with it.

Like any major company, if you're near a big city, you'll get 3g. If you're near a major city, you'll get 4g. I find it a hell of a lot better than the TS internet. You can also do things to your browser to get the most out of your data plan, and coverage area. Check out No-Script for Firefox.

i like sprint because theyre the only provider i know of that still offers a truly unlimited data plan, i did have to switch my personal plan over to a business account to add tethering so i could plug phone into computer, but its still saves over 900/yr compared to getting one of these lame usb things that are 60$ per month and limit you to 5gb.

as far as loading up on gadgets the largest concerns are depleting your trk's batteries and total idle time, you dont want to get fired because your idle time is "X",or needing too many jump starts.

Jump starts should not be an issue from running stuff of an inverter, unless your batteries are complete crap or it is really cold out and you ran them down.

It costs me $0.35/hour in gas to run my 2k watt generator. We are limited to 300w inverters which will just barely charge my laptop.

but the main quistion , still is; once your truck breakdowns and no other truck too come and get you and your toys, can you fit them all and stuff them in a bag , for a greyhound road trip back too yard or home, .:biggrin_2558:

Yup. Electronics dont take up much space and seeing as theyre the most valuable things on my truck they will be the first thing in the bag. Not including tv but I dont carry mine. Cant let that kind of reasoning stop you anyway. You dont stop going outside even though you could be struck by lightning do you.

all brand new batteries might last as many as 5 hrs running a computer/monitor, but they will quickly deteriorate using them like that. under prolongonged medium to heavy usage youre abusing the batteries which will reduce its usefulness and the amount of time it will hold charge.

been there, done that..need to idle to use comp...and no it isnt a laptop,i was using a desktop computer/22" monitor.

I guess I should have been a bit more specific:

A 400w inverter should run off a bank of batteries for well over a 34 hour reset even at full load and have plenty of juice to pop the truck off at the end.(Hell even after a 3 day layover.) The inverter I have (400w) cigarette lighter plug on it, draws about 5 amps (at max), the fuse is a 10 amp. That is a lot less than what a big 2000 or 4000w one is going to draw. But the only thing I have to power is my laptop and cell phone charger.
