Eliminating idle shutdown

You have to take it to a Volvo dealer or a shop that can program the computer to owner operator specs. they can shut off the idle timer, allow the jake brake to work in all gears if it is limited to certain gears (like mine was), the speed governor, etc.

 

it is possible to do with VTT/PTT ore VCADs with dealer portal access. In Ukraine it is $200.

 

VCAD Lite in USA-Canada it is (alltogether) 1600$.

 

VCADs Lite dont let you change parameters. You need it with Dev2tool

 

To change speed limit, idle time and these small things will let u do it. But nothing alse big.

 

so seems to me they sell it with level 3-4 parameter database

 

In USA+ Canada they sell ONLY VCAD Lite for the general public who let u do minor things. VCAD Pro is not for sell. This one only the Volvo dealers has it.
If u are interested to find out what can be done with VCAD Lite I can give u the website and the phone number and check it for yourself. It's pricy and the make u pay every year for upgrades and other crap.
For someone with 3-4-5 trucks is worth it. For me with one single truck is waste of money. If I want to cancel idle-shutdown is more convenient to go to the dealer and pay 10 minutes labour(10 minutes coz the computer boot in 5 minutes).

 

Dealers want more money for reprogramming, in Ukraine it is about $100

I have PTT (premium tech tool), with genue Volvo Adapter, but these toys are really expencive.... I have all this stuff becouse I use to maintane hundreds of trucks

 

U're very lucky my friend. If here would cost 100$ everyone would have it and Volvo dealers would go broke.
