No officer has ever asked for me to print them. They look at them on my device. I print them once a month or so for the per diem write off.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

West Memphis made me do it. Of course I had already pissed him off before he did.

    Oxbow and spyder7723 Thank this.

The merit was the ridiculously high rate of hos violations during road checks and at scales. Add in the occassional fatality headline making accident involving a driver way over hours...and politicians did what politicians do. Write legislation to garner votes.

Oh i know they can...they just never do. Or rather haven't yet. And i got 3 level 1s in a 45 day period last summer.

Also they must accept fax or emailed copies. You don't have to personally print them. That's a common misunderstanding varied over from the electronic log devices like eclipse. Eobr's don't have the same requirement.

    noluck and Oxbow Thank this.

Don't get me wrong, I am no huge fan of them. I do hope it will run the cheap freight haulers out of business.

Pages can't be ripped up and written anew. During a safety audit any edits will be seen and have to be explained.

I guess technically he made me email them to him. Most however just let you ride. Again I pissed him off and he was looking for any and everything to nail me on.

It depends on the system as to what will be seen and what goes away. And when I as the owner of said device have no safety dept. to deal with. Fuel and toll receipt still have to match. I log mostly legal anyhow. But if I get within an hour of the house I'm going home. I don't cheat to haul freight.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

Ya im not a fan either. It's just not the world is coming to an end issue for me. I look at them like i do any change. I adapt and thrive.

I also think we have only ourselves to blame. If drivers went getting hos violations and getting themselves obvious in wrecks we would of never had them.

People like to blame the ata about pushing this so they could keep up with the competition, but for that to be true it means the competition was running illegal.
