Why did we get an elog mandate? Follow the money. Look up Irwin Jacobs. Notice who he was the 3rd highest political donor for, then look at what company he heads. Funny coincidence, eh?

2000 and older trucks are exempt per the FMCSA rules because a 2000 was manufactured in 1999.
If one fills out 8 logs or less in a 30 day period they're elog exempt.
If one never leaves a 100/150 sir mile radius they do not require an elog.
That being said all the newer eld's should require is a power wire as much as I am against the mandate I'm exempt from one and I don't find it to be right. All that is truly needed for log compliance is a simple system with a power wire and a GPS that's run off that power wire. There is 0 need to have it connected to the motor that GPS can tell when you're moving and when you're not #### my god #### cell phone knows when I'm moving and when I'm not.Oxbow Thanks this.
