'99 was the last year a truck could be factory ordered with a mechanical motor. However, there are mechanical trucks with eld's, so, I would think they'd just include them all and tell those running old iron it's just the cost to keep running them. This is why I think there will be some other ulterior reg down the line that will make these older trucks almost impossible to operate.

That's not the point. I could afford $500 a month but I don't want to. Not to mention costs add up. $25 alone isn't a lot but 25 here 25 there 25 to them all adds up. It's always just another $25....where does it stop?

But the same can be said of any industry. Every business gets to watch there costs go up up and up. They either adapt and thrive or go out of business.

Yes but it's aggravating when it comes from unnecessary regulation. Just like egr,dpf and def systems on trucks. The point is if you cut out the spending on BS stuff we'd all be much further ahead. But hey.... it's just $25

Crap even my 91 CAT came from the factory electronic. Though I can't be sure it would support the E log requirements

VDO Road log is one I would take a look at. About $600 and if you don't want the fancy options there is no monthly fee.
