I started working for Em Way, Inc. out of Dover, DE back in August 2017 and I am doing good. I am a new OO and was pretty nervous because I had never booked a load or had to deal with my own break downs before. I didn't have a lot of capital going in at all.
Of course I read all the reviews because that is what I recommend to everyone who contacts me through my you tube channel, my blog, my twitter, Facebook and our organization REAL Women in Trucking...Research, Research, Research...read reviews BUT ALSO read between the lines.
I don't have much to compare to since I am a new OO but I will say that I am making over twice what I was making as a company driver for the past 10 years and I am very happy at Em Way.
I pay 2% of my gross plus $275.00 a week as an admin fee which I think is very generous since they deal with a lot of office stuff I do not want to deal with.
My insurance with them is $180.00 a week That is for my trailer ($50.00) and Liability ($130.00)
I also pay the following:
$5.00 TripPak/TransFlo
$5.00 ELD
$6.00 PrePass Plus Elite
Plus my Fuel and Tolls of course if I have them.
I book my own loads so if you have a crappy week, that's on me. They have self-dispatch OR you can have them dispatch you. I found this to be very helpful until I got the hang of talking to brokers and studying lane rates.
The only down side I can see is that if you have a major breakdown, it's on you, this is a small company that cannot support advancing you money to finance your breakdown so of course it is on my mind. My truck though has warranty left on it and I save money every week and keep up with my maintenance.
This company is not for someone that needs hand holding. It is for someone that wants to work and make money and take care of business. No one bothers me.
I fell upon them by an unfortunate event and I have to say that Christine , the owner went above and beyond that call of duty to reach out to me and give me a chance to get my bearings back. I will be forever grateful to her for that. When I read some of the previous remarks I do not see any of that from this company. I've met other Em Way drivers at pick ups and they are happy and content, making money. I have been in contact with a new driver who signed on with them a month ago and he is making good money and very happy as well.
So, I just thought I would like to post this because I have found Em Way to be a GodSend to me.

I just signed on with Em Way December 2023. Haven’t quite got everything finalize yet, but so far so good. They seem to be nice people, at least Michelle and Sam are, that’s all I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with so far. Anyway I’ll let ya all know what i think in the near future. Until then…Be safe!!!
