Just wait until you start dissecting sleeper provisions. :biggrin_25523:

Using my example of driving 7 hrs and spending 6 at a shipper, 2 more hrs would give you an 8-2 split.

He would still have one hour drive time using your example. 6 + 7 = 13

If he starts his day at 6 am he has until 2000 to complete his driving day... or sooner if the 11 hrs are used up.

So he drives 6 hrs to the shipper, it is noon when he arrives, 7 hrs later it is 1900. He has only driven 6 hrs so he can still legally drive one more hour.

Durr, thanks for pointing that out. I should have said 7 hrs driving and 7 hrs at a shipper = 14 hr clock violation if you drive again. But then again, you would only need 1 more hr at the shipper for an 8-2 split.

It will get even better in July when you have to start taking a half hour break before you complete your 8th hour deriving.

And one would be a fool not to drag feet for that hour., thorough trailer PTI... long time getting bills etc. Not to get that last hour in.

GR, not sure where you are getting information but there is NO 11 HOUR CLOCK.......there is a 14 HOUR CLOCK OR WINDOW during which YOU MAY DRIVE UP TO 11 HRS. Legally you must stop after driving for 11 hrs or your 14 hr window has closed whichever occurs first. If you do a pretrip at 6am and start your 14 hr clock on line 4 then you must cease driving by 8pm so if you choose to screw off until noon you then can only drive until 8pm.....if you get up and knock out 11 hrs of driving by 6pm then you have to stop once you have driven 11 hrs. In your example he drives for 6 hrs then loads for 7....6+7 = 13, he still can legally drive for 1 hr or if he shows 15 min for loading then he can drive for 45 minutes. Simple math my man, simple math!!

    Better look at it again.

1/2 hour break if more than 8 hours from the end of the last off duty.

Yes, from the last 30 minute break.

A driver may drive as long as 8hrs or less has passed since the end of the last 30 minute break.

So before your 8th hour after you come on duty.

Not just driving. If you had a break, then a pti or load, then now 7 1/2 till required break. Then if you fuel, it drops it.

Your previous post said you had to take a break before 8 hours of driving.

It did indeed... and when I quoted yours I led off with ... Yes... indicating acknowledgement of the point you made. I then attempted to clarify it.
