I've always had a soft spot for the old KW flat toggles with the lit tips. They just looked so right. I've considered switching over to those, but I think of the fun it would be wiring them in and change my mind. But they'd probably last forever, since the switches actually carried the full load back then.

Sadly, the real Stars are done. Everything going forward with the X-series are Cascadia cabs. And with the ridiculous cab and door height, they'll be worthless as carhaulers without major mods (Fontaine estimates $17k +) so if I decide to buy another it'll most likely end up a new wide cab Pete. But the way prices have gone through the roof (~$100k in the last 18 months, new carhaulers are over $400k now, ) I may just keep this one until I'm done.

Lighted toggle switches dont last worth a crap, the center is bored out for the light transmission, and the unlighted stock kw toggles do eventually wear out, usually you snap the switch off at the toggle.

If ambitious, Move to solenoids that are relay triggered by rocker switches, lets you mount solenoids right on firewall or wherever is most convienient.

Huh?? Do what?? Took me 25 yrs to install an inverter and get a coffee maker. The WS were chrome steel, they never broke or went bad., just the lights burned out. They changed color in different positions. Freightliner plastic toggles always snap off by design. Friend of mine converted his to Peterbilt switches. Made individual pigtails w/ flat blade on one end and eyelet on the other. There’s some steel chrome ones on the internet. Plug n play. Very expensive though.Easier to just carry extra switches

I snapped off a couple of those toggles in my T600 until I realized that I was flipping them a tad too heavily/crazily. Take care to be easier when switching them and they'll last a LOT longer.
