Great advice, most of all don't be afraid to get dirty. Get a pair of cover alls. Get all over, and especially under your truck, frame, wiring, hoses, driveline, u-joints, suspension, loose bolts, rubbing wires, rubbing hoses. Ok you get my point, get in there with your eyes open. Start it up, chock your tires, build up air pressure, shut it off, crawl around listen for air leaks, look for oil leaks, anti-freeze. Release brakes crawl back under and check it out again. Little things you catch early, save you huge down the road. Get yourselves a decent set of tools, and you'd be surprised at what you can fix your self. Even if your not as mechanically inclined as Medicine Man and all them, there's lots you can do. The more you do the more you learn, and are comfortable doing. I know some stuff isn't as easy to do now days like when some of us started, with all the electronics and all, but you'd be surprised. Pay attention to what these guys are tellin ya, and practice what they preach. Maybe I sound a little extreme, but this will put more money in your pocket, and way less headaches. LISTEN TO THEM, and take note!!
