It looks like you are not understanding my point. First my flipping burgers comment is for anybody that thinks they can dictate to a carrier how they run their business. I am not stating an opinion. I am stating facts. The medical privacy laws don't prevent a carrier from demanding a release before they give you a set of keys. This might surprise you, but I am in agreement with you on a lot of this. I went through heck trying to get Georgia to stop using my SSAN as my drivers license number. I also had to get in a few faces when it come to some things I was being asked that was not any of that persons business. I'm with you in the concept of medical privacy. I'm just trying to get across to you that when a carrier asks for a release YOU the driver have a choice. You can comply, you can say NO. What happens next is up to that carrier. That my friend is the bottom line.

I got you now. As of this morning I'm not working for them anymore. Going into town tomorrow to talk to a small business attorney to explore some options. Got a few Colombia's and Kenworths am eye balling. I'm just taking the next two weeks off to get some stuff done around the house and explore my options. I'm confident enough in myself that I can succeed on my own, be a struggle at first but I got supplemental income also to help foot the bills during the hard times. We will see

Why tell them anything at all? Just take off. It's none of their business why you're not coming in unless it's for a few days. This is seated in most employee manuals.
