WiseOne's Comments, I could have told them that. I see people all around me losing jobs like a wildfire, I have never seen anything like this to be sure. Our whole area here has almost no jobs and people are moving out and are going to have to move to big cities. This is getting pretty wild.

Panic mode, to be sure. What the economy ISN'T doing on it's own, the media is taking care of. December is sucking so far, and I can only pray that January picks up some!!!

I've been at work all day and now am watching this on ABC news, this is scary. Over 1/2 million people in one month lose their jobs. Even Starbucks laid off people they were reporting! LOL! Our local news before that announced more layoffs at local plants around here.

One of those media people on Fox News a few weeks ago, I think it was Neil Cavuto, said people shouldn't be scared and start spending more money! Put some money into the economy! How in the heck can people spend money if all they are getting is an unemployment check if that?!?!

Two large dealerships also closed here last month, one Ford lot and a GM dealership. North Carolina has been losing manufacturing jobs for the past 10 years at an astronomical rate, but now car lots are going out of business? Wow! Not enough people here getting a paycheck to even go buy a car! I was an assistant shift supervisor at a textile plant, that's what pushed me into trucking with the state paying for it for "displaced" workers when they shut down. I miss my old job, I liked it and the people there. Was forced to move on though.

On a side note, I had an interesting conversation with a lady in the checkout lane in the grocery store on my way home. We were talking and wondering about why grocery prices aren't coming down on stuff since diesel has dropped $2 a gallon which drove the prices up in the first place. Grocery prices are killing us at our house! Anyone have a theory on why prices are still so high?

I said we were heading for recession and it would be bad long before the government admitted it.

It will be at least July before I see it starting to come back.

All Obama and the Democrats need to do is lower corporate tax rates to 5% and do away with all their punitive investment tax plans.
Then money pours back into the economy. But, they won't do it.

If they lower corporate tax rates, I can almost say 100% chance there will be larger corporate management salaries and bonuses. It will not trickle down.
