Ok, so I'm down to chosing a company to drive for and have been reading on some of my favorites for Team Drivers. I was told by a friend who is a driver, that they asked a Schneider driver if they pay for Empty miles. He said they split the miles and only pay half. That made me wonder about all the other companies and who pays for Empty miles and who doesn't. Seems like an important thing to know when deciding what Company to go for. Can everyone tell me what companies pay regarding Empty Miles.
Empty Miles? Paid or not?

As a company driver (part of a team or not), all miles should pay the same, loaded or empty, and as such should not be an issue ... so long as you split you're driving time evenly. About the only times empty miles pay differently is if you're [part of] a lease or owner-operator contractor operation, where you'd need to have a full understanding of the mileage pay agreement going in.

I drove team for schneider. You get payed for all the miles. Example--- if you and your Co Driver get 5000 in a week and your pay is .40 cpm you each get .20 a mile for 5000 miles. It doesn't matter if you are loaded or empty. Most companies pay for all miles, loaded or empty unless you get paid a percentage instead of cpm. All of your major carriers , Jb, Schneider, Swift, ect... pay empty miles.

For solo drivers it can depend on the company. Some companies will pay a reduce rate for deadhead miles, some not. I get 58cpm whether loaded or empty.

If you're paid mileage, you'll be paid for deadhead. If you take up a job where you're offered percentage pay, you won't be.
