The worst is shopping cart loads. I've done a couple from Oklahoma to Arizona. They double stack the carts, tie them with rope, separate them with large cardboard sheets and brace them with 2x4's. The rope easy enough to get rid of (or recycle, never know when you need some rope) and most stores will let you dispose of the cardboard there if they bale cardboard and sell the bales, that cardboard is free money. The 2x4's can be a bit harder to get rid of if you don't find an employee with a wood stove or a project that he needs wood for.
One of my drops I was stuck with all that dunnage at the TA in Kingman, AZ. I was starting to pitch the stuff into a dumpster when another driver from IWX stopped and asked if I was going to throw away the wood. I said yes and he asked if he could have it. He made a quick call and his wife showed up in a TrailBlazer and they carted off all the wood. Even took some of the rope to tie the long sections to the roof rack.tucker and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
C&S in Avanel, NJ right off of exit 12 on the NJTPK was like that, constantly throwing all their trash on our trailers when I was with Marten. They'd even steal our good load locks and throw broken ones back on and tell us those were the ones we came in with. So we started charging the shipper for full trailer washouts and new load bars. Never found out if C&S changed their ways or not, but last count they paid for over 40 new load locks for Marten, and at least 25 washouts, and that was just with me.

It's too bad it's trash. Someone left a bunch of pallets with me and I was allowed to sell them and get a little cash out of it.

Good for me. Hope they catch me and ban me for life. Hahaha. Walmart succs

Sing that truth. I never want to go to another Walmart DC again.

That's how I am. I did a few runs for C&S a week and every 4 am my trailer would be a disaster. I always was expected to come with a clean odor free trailer. What I started doing was sweeping all their crap out by the dock door. Nobody can see you do it. It pissed me off. One time a piece I didn't see was left over as I checked out with security.. Yup.. Threw it right on the ground and security got mad. Told him it's their product rather it's trash or not it's not mine and it's not going in my trailer. Hated that place!

When I leave a receiver, they sign a P.O.D., at the bottom in bold "CONSIGNEE RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEANING TRAILER, $200 CLEANOUT CHARGE MAY BE APPLIED OTHERWISE". Few months back, had a customer leave 30 dunnage cardboard spacers in the back of the trailer. I swung by our yard, took multiple photos of it, tossed it in the dumpster, which filled the dumpster. Boss came into work, told him about, he took pics of the dumpster, called for extra pickup. Billed the receiver $400. Went back to the same customer a month later, when I left you could have eaten off that floor it was so clean.
Also, if you tell Walmart before departing that they left it full of trash, depending on the D.C. they will clean it out for you.tucker and Criminey Jade Thank this. -
Yeah they'll clean it - when it's convenient for them of course
