It has nothing to do with being fat which I am not. It has everything to do with the 1st stair on the trailer being 4.5 ft off the ground. When climbing up the trailer tire to get to the ladder, it can be extremely slick in the rain.

Most places we go won't let you get on a trailer ladder. We have being ordering our trailers with man doors in the front bulkhead so drivers can get in trailer.

My chemical tankers have the bottom 3-4 rungs of their ladders hinged so they fold up onto themselves for extra ground clearance. They are normally in the center of the trailer on the right side. I'll get a picture tomorrow when Im back at the yard.

This is what we now use KIMG1895.JPG
Our old Mac Macsimizers had a ladder on front in front of hoist cylinder.

I love my door, doesn’t do me any good with Coke and a lot of scrap loads where ya can’t get in the door.. I’m pretty intrigued at those auto bow systems that move out of the way in sync at the switch or a button, eliminates the need to even need to even get in there.. that’s pretty cool

Had swing bows in a couple Macs that was rope opreated. Fertilizer killed them! Been trying a new "unbreakable" bow. Half price of the plastic white ones. Good folks to work with. KIMG1897.JPG

The MAC I pull has a piece of ladder that flips up and pins out of the way, but I mostly use the man door in the front. Ladder is on the back left side.
