[IMG] End of 6 month OTR expericence with CR England?
Question. Would like feed back as to what others think about a 2 week notice or just quitting CR England once 6 months OTR is up in approximately 2 weeks? My husband has already applied to IDC, and is wanting to get out of CR England and wants to know the best way to leave? We are already expecting possibly the worst once they find out he is leaving, but he wants to do what is right. To keep his record clean. Any advise????? :biggrin_2558:

Is he turning in a 6 month demo lease?

If that's the case, I'd suggest he'd stick it out and go company. I turned in my 6 month demo and got offered a slot in relief and recovery. The pay is better and home time is more flexible. He could also look into getting in with a regional or dedicated run that brings him home for 34 hour resets. A quick search on CRE's website revealed that there are quite a few positions available from the Mira-Loma yard.

I do want to add that as a IC, he's not obligated to place a 2 week notice to CRE, as he's not a CRE employee. He DOES need to give Horizons a 30-day-notice though, or they won't allow him to return the truck. CRE doesn't own the truck he's driving. Horizons owns it.

It's always professional to give two weeks notice. While they would not necessarily give you the same courtesy they may be less liable to put something unsatifactory on your DAC if you give a heads up vs just quitting with no notice. Like another poster said make sure to send your notice over the qualcom so you have a record. Good luck.

Yes, I agree that he should turn in a two week notice. He should also wait longer if it takes a while to return the truck at a company yard. The last thing you want on your DAC is a truck abandonment, or a DNR (Do Not Rehire).

Not only would I give a two week notice via the SatCom, I would also send a letter to corporate - certified mail with a return receipt requested, as proof.
