American-Trucker, I was not sure if the 1st message posted. Iam new on this forum sorry if I offended anyone.
I do want to say thanks everyone for all the information. It was very helpful. My husband is going to get his 6 months OTR done and then he will put a 2 wk notice in. He is solo company driving, they had him basically running the East Coast up until the last month after he asked for a dedicated route in the West. And they finally got him a dedicated route running loads out of the Walmart Distrib. Co in Sparks NV. But he had to fight for getting that route. They told him he could get loads around our area and be able to take 34 hr resets at home. Needless to say they have not given him any loads up our way. They keep running him the opposite way. All he keeps hearing from Cr England are empty promises for 5 1/2 months that they will get him home time. He has not been able to come home since he left for schooling in Feb. 2011. That is a long time to be away from your family almost 6 months. And he is wanting to drive for a company that is closer to our home and IDC has a terminal only 14 miles from our home. So at least if he is in the area and has a 34hr reset or even 10hr off time at least he can come home. My last words of advice to others thinking of joining Cr England is "do your homework 1st and read up on the company on this forum, it may change your mind about working for them." I wish we had this info before we decided to go with them. But at least he got his schooling, training, & OTR done and his foot in the door. Thanks All.![]()
End of 6 month OTR expericence with CR England should I give a 2 wk notice?

Wow slow down Ann...did he get trained thru England? Also its been my experience to slow down and talk to the DM and say "Im thinking of leaving" he will ask why? then just tell him whats been going on with the empty promisses tell him "Im busting my butt for the company and theres no loyalty to hometime in return" In my experience the DM made the changes necessary to get me home and I bust my back for this company gladly.

Rag3 18 - yes he did get schooling & trained thru CRE in Mira Loma,CA. And btw he found out that it was his DM who was screwing with him and his gettin hometime. So he actually went above his DM to the DMs Supervisor and with in 10 minutes of his DM telling him they had no loads going west for a decicatd route the supervisor got back with my husband and had a trip to SLC and then to Nevada for a dedicated route west. Then he was told once he got the dedicated route that he would get a load up towards home and he could even do a 34hr reset at home. But to this date they have not sent him up this way to northern California. The closest he has gotten is sacramento which is about 100 miles S. of where we live. And then he has to deliver the load to the stores then back to Nevada Base. He dont even have a personal vehicle at the walmart Distr. base so when he has a 34hr reset he cant even go anywhere. He has to stay on the base in the rig. He cant even drive his rig 2.6 miles down the road to get his laundry done. (a worker actually gave him the keys to his personal car and let him go do laundry). He basically has had enough of their BS and is ready to try a company closer to home.

I agree with gswx plus regardless its more professional to give notice and you do not need to tell them why
AnnHouse Thanks this. -
UPDATE: My husband did give CRE a 2 wk notice & he did put it over the qualcom for records. He worked diligently as a company driver the full 2 wks & left CRE with a CLEAN 6 MONTH record. He just got flown today up to Seattle/Tacoma WA to start working for INTERSTATE DISTRIBUTOR COMPANY all expenses paid by IDC to start his 2 day paid orientation & pick up his truck as a company driver. So far IDC seems to have started off on the right foot, compared to how things went with CRE. We both are soooo glad that he is out & away from CRE. We dont expect things to be any greener with IDC,but if it is then it is a BLESSING & A BONUS. All we can say is "it couldn't get any worse than what he went thru for 6 months with CRE". Thanks Everyone for all your advise it was very helpful. MAY GOD BLESS & PROTECT ALL YOU TRUCKERS OUT THERE AS YOU TRAVEL ON THE ROADS.

Glad to hear it is a smooth transition so far. Good luck.
