I'm a fan of snap on tools for the most part but I have to agree on the ratchets. Broken more of them than my Craftsman or anything else

JoeyJunk, D.Tibbitt, Bean Jr. and 2 others Thank this.

I might have bought more Snap On if the dealers out here actually bothered to show up when you call them. I have seen the Snap On truck once in the last 6 years.

JoeyJunk, D.Tibbitt and Brettj3876 Thank this.

Craftsman tools, even the stuff built in the late 2000s, were good stuff. I didn't realize that Craftsman still existed after Sears went under. Rona and Lowe's sell it now but the product line looks to be a fraction of what it used to be.

Whether it be Peterbilts, Snap-on tools, or whatever you wanna compare, the truck or the tool doesn't make one driver or mechanic any better than the next.

I've seen really great mechanics using cheap Wally world tools. I've seen some greasy wrench monkeys with $30k Snap-on tools sets.

Same with trucks. Seen some really talented drivers in clapped out Internationals and some real idiots in Kenworths.

We can argue all day over resale values and such, that's boring. If a truck is so great, why would you care about resale value? If it's so great, keep it and don't sell it!!!!

Craftsman is now owned by Stanley Black and Decker. They have built some plants here in the US to manufacture tools. Hopefully, the quality will go back up.

Stanley owns MAC as well I believe. I'm partial to MAC. My old dealer treated us well, plus they had a retail store which was awesome. At least 2,000 sq-ft packed full of tools, like a kid in a candy store.

Quit now? Nah. 5 or so years from now when I’d look to buy another new truck? Probably. I only drive what I want to drive.

Trucks of all kinds sure do have different personalities from each other for being mere tools.

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

That will make the already over priced trucks increase in price.

Bret1984 and Bean Jr. Thank this.
