You sure can. Drivers add / drop endorsements throughout their career.

BOLOGNA don't forget it will cost you money to add an endorsement. Calif.charges $65 last time I look. I don't remember if thats per endorsement or a one time shot. Check with your state's DMV on that. Also I had to $89.75 for the Hazmat endorsement. I know its a PITA to Hazmat, but its a good thing to have.

Most endorsements are added at very little cost, haz-mat is expensive because of fingerprints and background check.

But if you are hired before getting HAZMAT a decent employer will reimburse you for it . HAZMAT has to be renewed . Why get it too early and have to renew sooner ?

RickG I understand what your saying, but there are Trucking Companies that won't hire without Hazmat already on the CDL too. I had Hazmat on my CDL pre 9/11, so it was cheaper for me to keep it in the long run.
