What I've been trying to say lol. Just because it says 2000 does not mean it was built in 2000 . That is in the title. What's on the tag of the engine applies for this exemption.
Engine date of manufacture Glider

Well my father had a brand new 2007 KW and the tag on the engine clearly stated it was a 2006 model year ISX.
My 1980 KW has a 1979 model year 3406 in it. I believe it is the original engine to that truck but I haven't confirmed it 100% yet.trees and OLDSKOOLERnWV Thank this. -

OK hubby has a company made glider not a fritz. His engine number runs 06r041. How to find year because what we found online dates this as one of the first one of the S60 to come out. It was just fully remand when hubby got truck with 10 miles on it. Short of asking Detroit is there a place online that we are not finding to look this up?
Really curious on this number date.Last edited: Aug 3, 2017
Reason for edit: Changed Freightliner to Detroit. -
I would be going to a Detroit dealer to have it looked up. Detroit wasn't proprietary to Freightliner back then.
Cybercat Thanks this. -

If the vehicle registration for a commercial motor vehicle reflects a model year of 2000 or newer, b
i have read this several times over and from the way i read it i would be exempt -
They'll ask you for last 6 digits of serial #. It takes them about 15 seconds to pull the info up. I bet yours would be 1997ish.
So far we know
41xxxx is 1998
550xxx is 1999
688xxx is 2002Last edited: Aug 4, 2017
