Anyone tell some good portable jump starter to keep in the truck? Want to be ready for winter, like how many Amps need to start engine in the truck?

More than any portable I know of. With a cold engine I'd think you'd be SOL!

i agree most jump boxes are worthless on a semi, a good set of real heavy duty jumper cables would probably be better.

Most trucks have 3 to 4 batteries 800 to 1000 cold cranking amps ... Best winter maintenance is go get batteries load tested replace them if they test bad ... Keep connections clean and a set of jumper cables .. If you pull refeer you have a 53 ft battery charger all you need to do if hooked up is connect positives together truck and trailer are grounded already I have a smaller jump wire I sometimes use to keep batteries up when running bunk heater on a layover

You can jump start your big truck with any vehicle that has a 12 volt system. Hope you never need to.

U can start truck from any car, just run car connected to truck batteries about 15 min and truck will start
Other good idea - just install APU -
